Avera Awards 17 Scholarships to Medical Students
Seventeen scholarships have been awarded to medical students at the Sanford School of Medicine of The University of South Dakota through a program implemented last year at Avera. With six facilities participating in the program, Avera is able to provide three more students than last year with the scholarships.

Avera Health Named 2008 Most Wired and Most Wireless
For the tenth consecutive year, Avera Health has been named to the nation’s MOST WIRED and for the fifth year MOST WIRELESS, according to the results of the 2008 Most Wired Survey and Benchmarking Study released today in the July issue of Hospitals & Health Networks magazine. Avera Health is the only organization in the nation to be named to both lists since their inception.

Avera Funding for Community Health Passes $4.5 Million
These are just some of the 32 projects that will receive 2008 grants from the Avera Community Service Fund. Sr. Mildred Busch, chair of the Avera Health Board of Directors and System Member, announced the grants today. Awards total $295,900 this year.
