Health Systems Change Visitor Recommendations

Due to a decrease in H1N1 influenza activity, Avera, Regional Health and Sanford Health joined together today to announce it will return to normal visitation. In October, the three health systems strongly recommended visits to patients and residents were limited only to healthy family members who are at least 18 years of age as well as healthy clergy.

Visitors who are ill and/or suffering from any influenza-like illness are still asked NOT to visit until they are feeling better.

The health systems made these recommendations in response to the H1N1 influenza pandemic. Should another surge happen, the three systems may again jointly announce the return of the visitor recommendations in order to maintain a safe environment for patients, guests and staff.
